Bristol:
Isambard Kingdon Brunel's original Great Western Railway station. It's next to the current Temple Meads station.
Brunel's suspension bridge across the Avon Gorge at Clifton.
Brunel's "Floating Harbour"
The SS Great Britain (first steam liner - guess who designed it)
The Matthew (ship of Cabot the explorer who got to America before Columbus).
The Balloon Festival.
The slave trade.
The tobacco trade.
An ancient pub called The Hatchet.
An excellent beer called Smiles Best bitter.
Concorde (at Filton aerodrome).

Somerset:
Glastonbury Tor (the ancient Isle of Avalon) and the Glastonbury Festival.
The City of Wells (fabulous catherdral).
Weston Super Mare (where you need field glasses to see the water when the tide's out).
Cheddar Gorge and caves (yes, they do make the Real Cheddar Cheese there).
Minehead and the wonderful villages of North Somerset.
The North Somerset Railway (not one of His) still steam operated.

Devon:
The World Famous Traffic Jams on the Exeter By-Pass.
The Great Western Railway ride along the sea wall between Exmouth and Teignmouth (can you guess who built this?).
Exemoor, home of some characters in a famous novel (Lorna Doon).
Seaton and its electric tramway, also Pecoworld.
A first class pub and restaurant called the Passage House just outside Newton Abbott (you'll have to search a map or web site for it or you'll never find it, but the "steak and stilton" with chips is fabulous).
Dartmoor, Princetown, The prison, Two Bridges, Dartmeet.

Cornwall:
Famous for Trevithic and his pre-Stephenson steam locomotive.
The Saltash Railway Bridge over the Tamar (Brunel again).
The Eden Project (miss it and you'll never forgive yourself).
St Michael's Mount.
The Hanging Gardens of Helegon
The Poldarks theme park.
Newquay if you like surfing.
Lands End.

There's loads more but I hope that'll give you a few ideas.

Try enjoyengland.com. Just type in the place you want to go, and it will tell you whats nearby and if anyone famous lived there. I used it for my recent road trip around the north of england and it was really good! Give it a shot!

I flow to the elderly the place ever they take place to stay in my job. a number of their friends seem to observe me or be against me if i do no longer in high-quality condition with the community i'm vacationing. as quickly as they understand i'm there for a good reason, this is been high-quality. some tremendously annoying moments, however!
