I don't know who hunter thompson is, but apparently my brother was a huge fan and got this at a book signing in Colorado. I really need money to pay college fees, and he used to always tell me to seel it if I attained it. How much is it worth on e-bay. There are no documents or a picture to prove its real. Just the book with H.S.T. signed on the inside of the front cover.

Look it up on bestbookbuys.com. That will search the inventories of a variety of used book dealers, including big ones like abebooks, alibris and half.com. Try to find one where the condition matches yours, as that is very inportant in used/rare book value. Remember, though, that these are asking prices, not selling prices.
You can also set up a search on ebay that will email you whenever a listing matches your search criteria is listed. You can also search ebay for things that have sold in the past month. The selling price there is probably a good indicator of what your book is worth.
It is worth what someone will pay for it. Depends on condition, how many are still around, and whether or not anyone still wants one.

There are a great deal of things to determine first, what condition is the book in? Is the signature verified? What edition, printing is the book.
If the book is in bad shape then it would really only be worth the autograph. If the autograph isn't verified that further reduces the value. My guess is you might be disappointed in what you would get for the book.

Yeah, I'd not sell it.
Take out a student loan.
One, you may find yourself wanting it at some point down the line, two, it was your brother's who passed, that'd be a pretty mean thing to sell it.
He obviously thought enough about you to give it to you, you could at least do him the honor of not selling it.

Read the book if you don't like it try to find out whether it is genuine or not and sell.
If you like it, don't sell the book in any case. It would be the link between you and your brother

if its genuine then you have a real collector piece. Thompson died recently. have you read it? read it then go rent the movie. unless you really have to I wouldnt sell it.

i think that would be a collector's item. hehe.
anyway, if possible, its better not to sell it, coz it's not only a collector's item as i've said, but something, that your bvrother owned and cherish, i'm sure he would be happy if u learn to love and cherish it as well. =)
