i own a repair shop, and if you,ll get the owners manual out and read it on this car it has a real good maintenance schedule in it ,that wilyl tell you exactly when it should be serviced and at what mileage most major service jobs should be done to it,they spent a lot of money printing this book and preparing the information in it,and all of its is real accurate,it will tell you the best time ,to do all this stuff,if you follow it you,ll probably get several hundred thousand miles out of it ,i have had two of them, and both went well over 300 thousand real easy, take care of it,and it wil will be the when you need it,good luck,i hope this help,s.

First off have the timing belt or chain checked. Oil and filter change, transmission serviced. A chassis lube is a must every other oil change. Not much to lube on these new cars though. Subaru's are known for their durability, and dependability. Take care of it and it won't let you down. If something does go wrong get it fixed immediately don't just keep driving it knowing somethings wrong because eventually it will quit running or the part that's not operating correctly will break and cause a bigger more expensive problem.

Subarus are well built. Go to the Subaru webpage and half thier life expectancy. At that point things will start to wear out. Do you drive hard? If yes more oil changes. Are you in a very cold or very hot climate? If yes more oil changes? Is it very wet or very dry where you live? More air filter changes? Check the market value this will give you an idea aswell, the more value it has lost the more they are being resold.
Not specific answers but a bit of food for thought.

At 60k miles you should get an LOF( synthetic or 5w-30 ). Check/change the timing belt, change the plugs and wires. Check all belts and hoses, check All fluids and filters, replace if necessary. Check all brakes. I used to work for Subaru dealers before my accident and these cars are great. If you follow the maintenance schedule in your manual it will last very long. I have a 93 with 123k on it.

Nobody can answer this question for you. It depends on how you treat and how you drive it. Like the other have said if you do the scheduled maintenance it should last you a long time. Since its a wrx I assume you will be driving more agressive than normal so perhaps to scheduled changes a little sooner.

I've heard around 300k is the life expectancy of one of our cars. It depends on what's been done and how it's driven. I tend to drive a little harder than I should but that's cause I can. I currently have 74k on the car and the only problem I've had was a bolt sheared off. . . That was my fault, like I said, I tend to drive a little too hard. Beyond that, find a local Subaru club and talk to them or you can look on NASIOC.

Check your belts, hoses, filters, etc. If you can, take it to a mechanic for a tune up. You really can't predict how long the car will last, but how you take care of it will determine alot! Also, change the fluids at the recommended intervals, especially your oil.
