....In your dreams, or in the fevered imaginations of people who make money out of crop circles.
In the real world. crop circles are of no interest to anyone but the hoaxers (who make them), a few people who admire the artwork and nutters who think they are something special

Is this a trick question, the rotary actiion that keeps a helicopter in the air causes a downdraft stronger than the crop can stand up to. Crop circles in fields are made by farmers with rugs.

Simple - if the crop circles are caused by aliens, there is a possibility that the aliens may become hostile. If they do, it is the military that will have to defend us. Additionally, if an alien race has travelled across space to visit our planet, they may possess technology that the military could use.
If the crop circles are all proved to be fake, then the military will know that there is no current potential threat from an alien race.
