which one is worth more money or someone to talk to? Why?

I heard that Mother Teresa once said that the biggest problem of the human race is loneliness. I would say that someone to talk to is worth more than money.

Definitely someone to talk to is worth more. The reason is that money is most definitely temporary. Money must eventually go to buy something that you need, something for which you made that very money. You may buy food & water, and these mean life or death to you. You may buy or rent shelter, and sometimes, this is also a matter of life or death. Medicine, clothes, etc. Money must eventually be paid to buy something that you either need or like. The money goes, and something else comes to stay temporarily. So not only is money temporary, but everything it buys is temporary. And you absolutely have no control over that...money must be spent for something, and anything it buys has a life span, whether long or short. And even if you make more than you can ever spend, millions upon millions, this is not going to make your stomach bigger so you can eat more--you can only eat tastier or healthier things and they're still temporary effects, it is not going to give you 2 bodies so you can enjoy 2 sports cars simultaneously, and it is not going to increase your daily hours from 24 hours per day so you can enjoy life longer or so.

On the other hand, someone to talk to, or the right company, can be forever. If you believe in God and the after-life, then this company can be forever literally speaking: you can be with them in this life until you die and then in the hereafter, too. If you do not believe in God or after-life, then you can be with them until you die, which can metaphorically be considered "forever". However, I say the right company underlining "right". Because certainly not everyone to whom you can talk will be more valuable than money. I am sure that money and making money can be more valuable than a lot of communication with a lot of people in the world who add nothing to you and to whom you do not add anything either. However, when there is balance: if you make decent money or a little more than enough, and you also have the compatible company of a friend or more, and of a soul mate or the right life partner, then the "right company" wins hands down.

Happiness from money is always temporary, often short, and thus sometimes addictive. And this is what consumerist corporations and the advertising industry capitalizes on. Happiness from the right company can easily come daily and last a whole life-time. And it only costs you one thing: the effort & patience needed to find the right company or the right soul mate.

While money needs a person besides yourself to give it any
value.

as an example say you and I were talking and I wanted to
hire you to mow my lawn. I offer you five dollars. you will either accept that offer of money or ask for ten. So the money has no set worth until the two of us talking between ourselves agree on its value.
