Sales from their last CD were not accurate. What we were not told was that the sells reported were consignments to Distributors - because the Dixie Chicks have a Buy back clause in their distributor contracts instead of a "return unsold" agreement. The agreement also states that they have to buyback stock not sold at a higher price than the distributor paid for the inventory to compensate for stock space.
This is done with many artists.
