Unfortunately, we Americans seem to go ga-ga over people like Paris Hilton and Anna Nicole Smith. Why? I sure as shootin' don't know. Neither of them has/had a lick of talent. They live/d sordid lives. Why is it this country is so obsessed with everything they do/wear/say? (past tense for A.N.S.)
I was in a restaurant tonight eating dinner and having a planning session w/ 2 colleagues. We were there for about 2 hours. The whole time we were there CNN was showing coverage of Anna Nicole Smith. Her burial. Her bodyguard. Her mother. He baby. Every bit of minutia they could get their hands on.
WHY???
With so much actual, real, important stuff going on, why the FRACK does CNN devote so much time to something that just doesn't matter?
I used to wonder how George W. Bush landed in the White House. Then I see the kinds of worthless crap that counts as 'news' in this country and I remember...

Strange question really. I mean she's just Paris Hilton, I find it worrying that she could be mentioned in the same sentance as trying to sum up a whole culture!

Yes, of everything wrong in this country. She should be a shame and embarrassment, and yet she is on the front page of all papers.
She is the top of an economic food chain that ruthlessly exploits everyone, when she ought to be living in a trailer park and getting smacked in the mouth for not having diner up in time to watch the races.
