You don;t really hear much about what's happen with the man responsible for for 9/11. Can anyone explain why he is still out there? With all the spies and top secret stuff the goverment has you would think they would have him by now or at least have some clue.

That's a real good question. Prepare to hear the truth, which most of you will reject since it's uncomfortable.

The fact is that we don't have the intelligence assets to know exactly who we are looking for, and if we did find out and locate them, we don't have the assets or the procedural ability to get approval to take action in a timely fashion.

It's simply a lot easier to say "Bush must have done it or he'd be looking harder" but the truth is that Former President James Earl Carter destroyed the CIA's ability to do much overseas. Sure, we have satellites and electronic eavesdropping ability, but what we don't have is real people on the ground. The "spies" you think we have a lot of do not exist in significant numbers. In addition to lowering the numbers, the spies are weighed down with a heavy bureacracy that would have to approve every move, which would have to be run through Congress at some point, making covert operations difficult if not downright illegal.

After Carter made it difficult for the CIA to operate outside the US, the Clinton administration made it difficult for them to operate at all, by forbidding most direct contact between them and the FBI.

There are so many conspiracy theories going around about 9/11. Look it up on websites. The twin towers supposedly didn't come down because the planes crashed into them. Alot of people think it was more like a planned demolition, the way the floors collapsed. Also the Pentagon. Where was the plane wreckage, the wings etc. I watched an interesting documentary ,which makes you really think about it differently to what we have all been shown on Television.

we are looking for him. the reason you never hear about it is because if the liberal media talked about the steps we are taking to find bin laden then people would not hate bush as much. it is sad but numerous books have been written by industry insiders showing the favoritism towards democrats that is shown by new outlets. also the other problem we have in finding him is that 1 Al Queda is set up in such a way that if one member is captured or killed another person moves into his position/rank right away without any hesitation. people know who is next in line for what spot. so even if we catch bin laden tomorrow then someone else will just take over. 2 bin laden is wealthy and also has a lot of friends, he did not make the same mistakes that Hussein did, and alienate any allies he may have. bin ladden has numerous supporters and people willing to hide him. that makes it much harder to track him down. bin ladden will not be found in a hole in the ground like hussein was. bin ladden will be found in a palace or a large home. 3 the things we are doing in iraq take us one step closer every day to ending this war and finding and capturing all the men responsible for 9/11. we will get to the end of this whole thing but it will take a while and we will have to eventually go to iran to do it. but we will win none the less.

Bush only thinks of Osama during election years or the mid-terms.

Otherwise, he don't care or think about Osama--much.

Exactly what I've been saying. Osama is the real "hitler" we need to go get, not Saddam.
This should be a war on al Qaeda, not terroroism.
