your chances of getting prego while on your period are slim, but possible, epically towards the end of your period.

and believe me you will NOT be feeling the effects of pregnancy the day after.. some women go a whole moth without feeling anything (ive even read once a woman went up to 6 months! without knowing)

and if you are concerned,
you cant do a pregnancy test until AFTER your NEXT period. although i hear now there are tests you can take like 3 days before your misses period, but that is a special brand, not every brand can do that. most brands you need to take a week AFTER you miss period.

If you do not chart or monitor your fertility in any way, and you think you may have conceived, you should wait 19 days (or longer) after having sex to test. Why 19?! Sperm can live approximately 5 days in the proper environment; if the sperm managed to live until you popped an egg, the actual conception could have taken place several days after the sex act that got the sperm there. To make sure you're not testing too early, assume the sperm had very long lives (5 days is considered a very long sperm life) and that conception occurred then. Then allow 14 days for the embryo to implant and develop enough hCG to show up on a pregnancy test (96% of pregnant women will test positive by then.)

My husband and i had sex on the 3rd day of my period and i became pregnant but however i miscarried at 5 weeks.
You wouldn't feel sick so soon like that though. Good luck!

People who have their periods very regularly (every 28-30 days) all the time, would not need to worry about becoming pregnant during their periods. Ovulation would be about 2 weeks after the day your period STARTED.

People who are irregular, the periods are sporadic--could be in trouble. These people will not know when they are ovulating--and even if they are on their "real" period. These people are likely to become pregnant, and not even realize it for some time.

Yes it can happen, although very rarely! Give it until your next period before you get tested.
