Drink warm milk?
My favorite method is to get ready for sleep and get in bed with a book or magazine. I read on my side so my eyes get tired and I go to sleep faster.

Go through your normal routine again.. snack, wash up , what ever yours is, then what I do is: I use a self hypnosis technique I learned while I was PG. (I had my son through hypnosis) starting either with your toes or your head , flex and then relax each muscle, including your tongue( we usually are pressing it on the roof of our mouths) ,when all of your muscles are relaxed ,then start to count backwards from 100 down (I have never reached 1) slowly think each number , visualize the number in your mind , try to keep all other thoughts out of your mind, this gets easier with practice. I never have trouble falling to sleep, but on an occasion or 2 , if I am not asleep within 5 minutes, I get up and do something else till I feel tired again. I have stayed up all night more than once. If this happens, do not take a nap or sleep in the next day,as this will really through you out of sync. I prefer to go to bed around 4am. I get up at 7am to get my granddaughter off to school, then I go back to bed till about 1 or 2pm. It is what works for me.

I never get much sleep but that's because I'm a mommy of two, a 3 and 1yr old.
Because of that when they are both sound asleep, I'm still up cause I'm so use to being up taking care of them so what helps me out is drinking a big cup of hot cocoa. For some reason that always just makes me feel sooo relaxed and I end up going to bed without finishing it all. Oh, and of course while I'm drinking I watch my favorite DVDs(which in my case is the Charmed series)....you know it's part of the relaxation for me.

try to lay awake in ur bed or count 2 100 untill u fall asleep.

When go to bed,don't bring any matter and problem with you.Just relax and calm down.I like to hear to my mp3 player before I go to sleep because it can help me release and forget about my problem.

I am an insomniac I can't take medication for it so I just live with it Don't most of the stressed out US?
