I'm sure you've seen the type. Skinny, almost anorexic looking, guys who wear super-tight "skinny" jeans and slim-fit t-shirts that look like they were sized for an 8-year-old girl. I don't hate the style, to each their own, but what image are they exactly trying to portray to society? To me, as an observer, my first impression is that they are being effeminate. What is your impression of this type of style? What is the origin of this "anorexic" style?

A false sense of pride and confidence. I'm personally skinny, but you would never see me wear tight clothes, cuz honestly, I'm not comfortable in them, and my confidence about being "FIT" does not arise from the clothes that I wear. But for some people, it is a big blemish on their self-image if they were seen as skinny and weak. They feel the worst about it, and they decide to show a false sense of "self-confidence", which brings up their morale. People do look at anyone wearing tight clothes, some may even like it, and so... what they once thought wouldn't happen (getting attention), is suddenly possible. To the rest of us, it looks stupid.

Oh you seem to be talking about EMO kids!! Don't sweat yourself over them. They are just a bunch of angsty posers. Just laught at them and they will cry and cut themselves. I remember when I was in highschool and I thought Goth's were freaks. Looking back now and looking at these Dorky EMO kids today, Goths seem almost normal. What is sad is when you see the EMO's who you know are pushing mid 20's maybe even thirties. Just avoid them they are mentally ill.

I think they are trying to portray that they are young and hot. In reality, it looks like they are trying to portray that they are weasles.
