Why so many latinos look asian?

any historical explanation?

I mean many Latinos can be mistaken as Filipino.

It makes me think now if race really exist

Well, asides from the Latinos who actually are immigrants from Asian nations such as China, Japan (especially in Brazil), etc., the answer is because many people from Latin-American nations with large American Indian populations (such as Mexico, Bolivia, etc.) tend to exhibit Asian features, due to intermarriage or because they are American Indian. American Indians originally came from Asia and crossed into North and South America during the Ice Age, when the Bearing Strait in Alaska froze, allowing Asian people to cross into North America and disperse and settle into the rest of the continents over the next thousands of years. Summed up simply, unless they are actually Asian, the Latinos that "look" Asian got their appearance from having Native American background. Conversely, in nations such as Argentina, where the native Indians were almost completely wiped out, or Puerto Rico, where Indians are actually extinct, the people look like the populations that immigrated (or in the case of Black Africans, brought forcibly) there. For example, in Argentina, people with Indian blood are extremely rare, thus the populace looks primarily European (White). Hope this answers your question.

Well , Mexicans and some people from Latin America have a mix with Indians like Aztecas in Mexico and central America This Aztecas were very similar to Asians , some people believe that Asians travel from Asia true Alaska to North America and central America , and after thousand of years become Indians., Indians were extinct in the Caribbean but not in Mexico and south America

mexicans is not really a race its a mixture of spanish and native american. Back then when the spanish and european people came to america they noticed the indians, since they were going to settle in the "new found land" they need someone to mate with..the woman didn't go on the long boat rides (some did, not many) so the Spanish peps and the other european people began to intermarry with the native american women.

..and if you noticed the native americans look asian..it was believe that they originally came from asia a long time ago

because siberians are kind of like eskimos who greatly resemble chinese and are right next to them migrated here on the bering strait. then the bering strait was submerged in water. so all the people in north america the native americans were a type of chinese and the environemtn changed them however. the wind and sun and running around changed their bods. so the ones that most resemble chinese, they are mostly native american. latinos dont like being thought of as native american. they prefer to be thought of as spanish, like the conquistadors. theyre not, but some are, mainly the light skinned ones who look a bit moorish. im talking about mexico. once you get into brazil, there are entire different matters going on and very different. hope that answers your question.

yes, and some of the women look Asian too! i know a Mexican who everyone at work thought she was a Chinese...
also i have a Filipino wife who has passed for an American Indian..
Well, I think the Asians came across the Bering straights a long time ago...that's my theory

There's also the immigration of the Chinese to North America during the 1840's. Some of them intermarried with the Mexican population.

the only ones i can really think of are the asians that slick their hair back because some of them can look mexican.
