My old PC had windows XP and two user profiles one for me and one for my girlfriend. When I moved in with my girlfriend I couldnt bring my PC so I took out the hard drive and brought it with me and bought a USB caddy to connect it to. Now whenever I try to access my files in my hard drive from my girlffriends PC via the USB caddy i get an error pop up saying 'cannot access folder f://my documents/ etc etc access is denied. Does anyone know how I can get into my files?

You need to be logged in as admin, then you need to take ownership of that folder and all it's contents. If you're using XP, you first need to disable simple file sharing, it's in View tab of Folder Options, in the Control Panel. Once you've done that, when you right click and go to Properties on that folder you're trying to access, you'll get a Security tab, open it, then click Advanced, and you'll see the Owner tab. Go there and change ownership to your present admin login.
