Because it does! Men are very succeptable to sexually explicit images, and their sexuallity is very visual. I read a government study that said a mans decision making ability is compromised for 20 minutes after seeing a sexy image...and by sexy I mean something as simple as the female outline or a pretty face...since most men are used to pursuing what they want, and they are bombarded with images that distrub their decision making ability, sex sells to men. Women are succeptable to it as well, but not as much as we tend to see sex as something more than spreading seed and satisfying an urge. This is speaking historically, not pinning it on every male mind you - the human race is wired a certain way for survival but we can overcome that wiring - so guys, don't get upset LOL

whether we like it or not, sex really sells. maybe the reason is that a sexy body is a visual come-on that has been proven to be effective time and time again. advertisers need a visual come-on to attract clients, customers or get the most attention.
i think even the ones doing this sexy scenes (singers, car show models etc) don't feel exploited because they earn good money, adulation of guys and celebrate being young.

Because we are all ,male and female, wired for survival. What are the strongest urges we have....hunger and sex...and not necessarily in that order. If it were only the radio we listened to, would we be able to tell the difference? Lately you are probably right. But would you remember singers like Mama Cass, and Janis Joplin, and Joan Baez?

I think women who are real artists get a bum rap because this is 100% true. Lots of people with taste don't give women artists the time of day, Because they are typecast as sex-symbols, not musicians. All you need to do is turn on the radio or tv to see what I mean. But who buys records? teenage girls and boys. When the industrys fan base has a attention span of 2 seconds, it is easy to see why sex trumps talent. Sad but true.

I go for the talent not for the looks ... if I hear this song that's really good but the signer doesn't look like a prostitute and looks more like Ugly Betty lol and if I hear this song that sounds more like Madonna then I would chose Ugly Betty withought a second thout ;) Madonna its a shocker and love it but not so much her voice lol
