It is still alive and well albeit on a more limited scale.In fact if you read the news the US is about to deploy a version of the system on UK soil.

Darn right it scared the commies...that was part of the plan....President Reagan "spent" the USSR into oblivion including the development of the SDI.

Yeah that was a big scam but there was research done during the program that is being used in missile defense programs now
