I pre paid a body/paint shop $9,000 to work on my cars that I left with him along with many parts. They were to be finished over a year ago. Now he has taken my cars and hidden them and wants another $7,500 and is going to sell my cars if I do not pay him. All my money is in those classic cars. He has cost me thousands in lost sales of these cars. and I dont want him to get away with this.I last saw the cars in July 05 when I gave him a final extension to complete the work he had been paid for. When I went to get them in November he gave me the ultimatum to pay up or loose the cars, which are worth over $80,000 when restored

Well, it is free to consult with an attorney. So, shop around for an attorney who will work your case on a contingency fee. That is, the lawyer works for free and gets paid if you get paid. If you lose the case then you owe the lawyer nothing. Be warned, lawyers usually charge between 25-33% of all winnings. So, they will take one third off the top of any winnings. But, this is better than nothing.

Go to your local civil court and file a small claims suit against them, then go to police department and pay an officer to serve the subpoena. Small claims maximum is $5,000 per case, but dont wait theres time stipulations on it. Then contact the BBB (Better Business Bureau) and report their crap. Dont wait or you'll lose!

Also at police department file a criminal case of theft against him, stay on top of the cops or theyll just put it away and forget about it. Only justice youll get is if you push and push back until they do their jobs.
