i cannot remove bear share from add/remove programs b/c the wise uninstall box pops on and says it cannot open the install log file. what can i try next?

Go to C:\Program Files and look for Bear Share. First, make sure it is not currently running - is there an icon in the RH task bar at the bottom of your screen? If so open it and tell it to shut down. Then simply delete the folder that says Bear Share. After doing that, restart your computer and go to: http://onecare.live.com/site/en-us/default.htm?s_cid=sah and get a FREE Windows scan of your computer by MS which will get rid of all traces of the program as well as check your computer for Viruses and spyware - then gets rid of them.
Just select a full scan and follow the prompts. DON'T Subscribe to the service - it costs you $$$.

you could just use a freeware uninstaller,lets face it windows add remove programs is hardly perfect. http://www.freeware-guide.com/dir/util/uninst.html
