heroes generally aren't in the same time period as those who consider them heroes... of course there are exceptions... but more often than not, there is no living hero...
modern liberals would look to jfk, maybe some even clinton... mlk... ghandi... most are dead if you noticed...

In my humble (or not so humble) opinion, there is not one person that fits that particular oxymoron.
Hard pressed at the moment to come up with anyone in politics, although Bill O'Reilly and Dennis Miller seem like pretty straightforward kind of guys.

It tells of how he manipulated the media....
