Three ignorant Anglo white males in Northern Kentucky find out that Alexis Bledel is 100% Hispanic:

Yahoo # 1: Oh man, dude, she is hispanic. but why is her skin all white and stuff?

Yahoo # 2: She's proly mixed with one of us cus I aint never seen one that light before.

Yahoo # 3: No wait boys, I remember going into the city one day and saw me one of them "White" hispanics at one of 'dem fancy resturants. She was all speaking her spanish and she was all blonde.

*gasp*

Yahoo # 2: You saw one too? My old man said he saw pleny of them when he was stationed in California. Apparently, they're all over Miami too.

Yahoo # 1: What the hell is going on? This is confusing me. I thought Latinos were supposed to be all brown and stuff. At least thats whats portrayed on the tee-vee. Hell, 'dem Mesicans out on the job site sure dont look like Alexis.

Yahoo # 3: Supposedly, my old man said that in Spain they're mostly like that too. But I dont believe it.

Yahoo # 1: Now wait a second boys, dont you think that we're just projecting an uneducated assumption propogated by a mass media ploy thats targeting the spending power of an ethnic group? And dont ya think that were looking too much into a misused ethnic label foisted upon a multi-racial group of people by politicians seeking to create a new voting bloc? And dont you think that the site of a "white" hispanic makes us feel a little uncomfortable because we fear losing our social status in the US and we're so used to the ethnic stereotypes?

ALL: NA!

Yahoo # 2: Flip it back to NASCAR.

My parents are Mexican, so I've always known that there are white-skinned Mexicans. In fact, my mom's side of the family is all white....I even have relatives in Mexico that have blond hair and blue/green eyes. No big deal, at least not for me.
