I'm not into alien consiracy theories or anything but I've recently visited a site that just blew me out of the water. If anyone has time please visit www.marsanomalyresearch.com There's an article in there by J.P. Skipper you gotta read. Click on "evidence" then "comments" & read the article entitled "Why no alien contact?" I thought it was going to be a bunch of crap but people, this guy Skipper really makes sense. The whole site is cool, worth spending some time on. Share you thoughts...

For my part, I was underwhelmed. Many of his claims are wild extrapolations where he often voices dark and melodramatic suspicions of conspiracy over pictorial features which often have more mundane plausible explanations.

He assumes an earth-like climate when our best understanding of the Martian atmosphere says otherwise.

His accusations of a coverup and blurring of the image are pretty slim given his rather selective treatment of them. Also, there is a much more mundane explanation for the oddities: the simple fact that Mars is hundreds of millions of miles away from us, signals occaisonally get garbled and when it takes the better part of an hour to tell the rover to snap a picture then maybe it's not worth getting another copy unless it's REALLY interesting. Satellite imagery is even more problematic in this regard, as often you're limited to what you can see from your particular position and to ask to rephotograph many regions might simply not be possible for a long time until you return to a specific spot in space. Better just to take what you can and move on.

The same goes for report #19, something about giant plants on Mars. The only problem is that the treelike formations could have been formed by other phenomena, and there's not enough evidence in the photos to immediately make an assumption that giant plants are on Mars.

I could go on, but after those two I saw little value in going further.

scientists have long known that it is possible there was life on mars, it has ice at its poles, and there is evidence of dried up rivers and seas. However, the current day Mars is totally unsuited to life, unless there are small amounts of bacteria that have evolved to live in these ice caps.
The evidence presented on that website did not convince me, saying pictures, that were incredibly grainy and un-focused, showed life was absurd, it could have been anything. And looking at teh stuff about the Mars Cairn, it probably wasn't even shot on Mars, looking at the colour of the atmosphere, it looks like it was shot on the edge of some desert somewhere. Though some of the other pictures are more convincing, anyone who studied geography will know that piles of rubble, or scree, can often form such features, as they do on earth, or that the elements can create them from a single block of stone.
No, i'm not convinced, some of what he says about humans as a whole are good observations, but do not point to life. The reason only a few missions are sent to mars/moon is because they are expensive, and recently there have been problems with such missions. also, most countries are currently focusing on the building of the space station, from which futher exploration would take place.

sorry, but i think it's a load of rubbish, written by someone who is desperately clinging to this hope that we are not the only planet in the solar system with intelligent life.

Take a look at the varied official nasa film clips scattered about the net and you will find some very interesting footage showing many unexplained & dismissed events around earths orbit...filmed from space shuttle & space station & most with audio of crew or control etc!.If your after evidence it doesnt come better than nasa video footage-try google video..

I just looked at the article and noticed that many words that mean possiblly were in it. "let's just presume for the sake of argument" is a quote from this article that I picked at random, I didn't read the whole article but I can assume that for the sake of argument the whole article is based on the imagination of a man like Asimov, a syfi writer who wrote "I Robot" which I liked.

I didn't read the site you referred to. But my thought is that when aliens contact us...they contact us...I'll not give them anymore thought than that. I have enough to focus and pay attention to communications with others right here on Earth without worrying about aliens.

I find nothing compelling about that article whatsoever. He speaks of the large amounts of evidence of "dense populations" on Mars. Where is the data? He neither shows nor refers us to anything that substantiates the claim.

Don't waste your time with this stuff.

Another lot of fantasy by someone who wants to let people know that he really did escape from the asylum. These people are dangerous to themselves and should be kept in a very quiet padded room.
