I have a friend who repairs computers and he does a good job at it… except that he has a PC repair certificate. He is not A+ certified. So should I tell him not to look at my computer anymore until he gets his A+ certification?

I have worked on over 5 thousand computers and I am not A+ certified. Certification does not guarantee competency.

Why would you do that? Does he have some sort of advertising or guarantee that he is A+? Frankly, the A+ degree is over rated in my opinion (we used to call it the KED, Kindergarten Equivalent Degree). Not only that, but if this is his business and he is NOT claiming he is A+ certified but has some other form of certification for repair, why would you tell him to do anything and expect him to listen?

*sigh* I remember back when us computer geeks did not have to spend all that $ to get a piece of paper that says we know what we do. The certs do not prove you are good at it, just competent enough at memorization to pass a test.

No... A+ certification is a hoax... Most people that bother to get this certification don't know their head from a hole in the ground.

The A+ is used to get a job. To keep a job, you need to do good work. If he does good work now he is fine.

If you are paying him for his work and don't want him to do it any more... go find someone else if you like. But if he's helping you for free as a friend...hmmph... I'm sure he'd be quite happy to not 'look at your computer' any more!

Nope. Let him work on it if he's good. A+ certified technicians canbe good or bad.

If your using internet explorer, look toward the top left, find Tools -----> Internet options(last one on the list) -------->Browsing history----> delete ( a new menu pops up)--------> delete cookies , history and temporary internet files. Congrats, you just cleaned your cache
