Factually, people who earn over $150,000 per year pay 96 PERCENT of all income taxes in the US every year. If you think the paltry sum you pay in taxes every year is significant as a lower or middle class individual, think again. Middle class citizens pay about 30% on average of their income, and they get a good portion of that money back, but upper class citizens pay nearly 50% of their income, AND they get no tax return. People who think the middle and lower class are overly burdened by taxes have been believing the lies Democrats tell them without researching, plain and simple.
The worst thing you could do is vote Democrat.
They will only tax you more than you are taxed already.
So-called tax cuts for the middle class that they promise are empty rhetoric that never happens, time after time.

For the poster who mentioned the flat tax: I am all for it!

So many Liberals would whine and cry over that though, because they would not get a huge tax refund for once, and it would confuse the hell out of them.

I most certainly hope so, God knows the rich vampire neo-cons deserve it. The have been slopping at the public tax trough for so long they act like they own the poor. We do not despise the wealthy, we despise the ridiculously slanted corporate oriented government our Country has been saddled with and the grossly unequal distribution of wealth in the U.S. A flat rate income tax across the board would balance the budget in a year if the upper 5% paid proportionally the same as the lower 95%.

Government officials must govern the people who elected them, and the United States hasn't been doing that for about 20 years. It is time to detach the parasitic corporate vampire from the public throat and save the middle class by saving our industrial base. The EU all but owns our industrial base as it is, and we must save what is left. Doing so will also save the middle class, an aspect of the United States I personally feel is worthy of saving.

It is easy for the Federal Government to stop the outsourcing of America, they must protect our economy with the use of tariffs. All other countries do it, and so must we if we have a hope of providing for our population and remaining a world power. It is not socialism to be socially responsible. There is no excuse for the homeless problem in the United States and 40 million uninsured medically is an disgrace shared by anyone who calls themselves American.

aren't democrats also wealthy these days? the people on the hill who are democrats are all wealthy. they would be the ones raising taxes but then again they might be exempt cuz they are in d.c. besides the majority of all the dem law makers come into office rich. don't believe me? you can look them up and see what they do or did before getting elected. rich i tell ya.

the tax breaks affect so few of us even if our incomes are in the $200,000/yr range so i don't know if that's even something that was done for "us." if they raise taxes, it will probably be for things like improving schools, giving more loans to college students, building affordable homes in rural areas, extending healthcare for kids under the First 5 program, creating programs to combat the rise in obesity in school age children. yeah, i see your point, the successful people would be really mad.

People who inherit wealth are not successful, just lucky. And usually self-centered, self-righteous and obscenely spoiled. Tax the crap out of them.
