Yeah, I thank America has given up on Bush, which is sad. Americans like to blame their problems on Bush or Congress or Corporate America....anyone else besides ourselves. It is our empathy which is killing this country. We have two more years of Bush. What I hear people saying is that we should just bury our heads in the sand and what for the Democrat to become President. How long will it take before we are blaming him/her for our problems???
As for hiding, hell no. These last 23 months are bullet proof. There is no re-election for this guy and if things continue to go the way they have, there is no election for any Republican who runs. I hope he keeps on fighting because what the US needs right now is real debate. Let us move past the name calling. Let's move past the fact that Nancy Pelosi needs a fleet of jets to fly her entourage to and from the West Coast! Let us move into some real debates. Let's talk about minimum wage and health care. Let's talk about education and financial aide. We have become so focused on the conflict in Iraq that we lost sight of the domestic problems at home!

I think America has quietly accepted the fact that he is there till the bitter end. They are coping and doing the best they can.
As for Bush sitting quietly while the children read on 9/11. If you see the leader of your country in a panic it would have caused the whole country to panic. If you ever heard the radio story of the aliens landing to take over, the worry and stress in the announcers voices and the pandemonium it caused back then you would know why they try and keep some level of decorum.

Not us grown-ups.
EDIT: Right, Cherry. The person who slammed the President for continuing his reading to a group of little children, obviously has none. Trauma is scaring a bunch of children. I turned off my television after 9-11 because I didn't think my 4 year old needed to see all the tragedy. Let children be children, for pete's sake, and the rest of us need to grow up.

I don't really know how to judge America as a whole. From what I hear, the vote is as 50/50 as it has always been amongst my peers.
I think that the press and hollywood would have us all believe that America has given up. I also think that since most of the American Public would rather pay attention to celebrities than reality, that we can safely assume that many have "given up" on Bush. I also think his fate was sealed the moment he won that second election. Its been a witch hunt ever since. He is unpopular, but he at least has the balls to stick to his guns when he has made a decision. I have little doubt that is what he will keep doing until he leaves office.

Yes they have given up ... No, I don't wish he would hide. I prefer he continues to protect America as he has.
America is just looking for a reason not to like him ...they are bored with the fact that there hasn't been any scandals in the White House since Monica-gate ... and since Billary left the White House.

I wish he was impeached immediately-- he already is hiding- didn't you see the video of him on 9/11 sitting on the stool like a dufus staring out at the children in utter dumbness? Imagine the trauma that image has on those children that now know what was going on and what their "president" chose to do for 15 minutes in front of them- the government should offer free therapy for the rest of those children's lives

I can relate. George Bush President of the United States is a man who has flushed all honor and integrity down the toilet. He has spread shame on America, it's Constitution, and it's People. It is a highly embarrassing situation for every Good American. This Man has spun completely out of control and he needs to be stopped immediately. President Bush has discounted himself to nothing more then a mere "War Criminal."

gave up on Bush a long time ago. Hes a lame duck president. the only thing he can do is continue to drive us deeper into an illegal war and further isolate the US from the rest of the world.

70% of us have. The rest is up to Congress. If Congress does not expose the White House, and failing to do so would be to their shame, the World Court is waiting their turn.
