how can i get a good harvest of onion?

i am farmer from egypt i used to plant onion in my land i want any one help me to product a good harvest of onion

Well drained soil and sun.As previous poster said grow from sets-seeds are not worth the bother..
Keep them well watered at all times and place a net over them to deter birds from pulling them up.

You need well draining soil....not too much clay. I use onion sets and plant them in a furrow 2-3 inches deep. I mix bone meal into the furrow before I plant....always get lots of onions.
