Knowledge is very important to decision making. The more you know the better armed you are to make the right decision. How can you decide if you don't know enough about either option? An uninformed decision is just a guess and is likely to be a mistake. You might as well go eenie-meenie minie moe (actually this is how I make some of my major life decisions! Tee hee.) Some things you can't really "know" or research however. Some decisions you just make based on your gut feelings. Though I suppose your feelings & instinct, your intuition are also forms of knowledge...

Knowledge can be and is a big impediment in sound decision making as the best decisions are and should be made using our higher intelligence, our intuition is for this purpose only. The rest is just we human use to mimic the universal wisdom and cognizance of all that is.

Either husband or wife once married should not do this i.e. having relationship with either with boyfriend or girlfriend. It seems you are trying to show your love towards your wife, however, if this was the case then you should not have asked public opinion. You should have given her permission without informing anyone. If you have such a big heart don't take public opinion. However, if you permit her then she may have another boyfriend and the same request will be made and this process will continue till some serious consequences will happen. Sometime you may also wish to take permission from your wife to have relationships with your girlfriend. Stop this nonsense. Be realistic. Don't try to become hero. Don't do wrong things and also don't permit others to do wrong things.

<>Let's see. You decide to drive to the store. But you don't bother to look at the gas gauge so you run out of gas. After you get gas, you continue on and have an accident because you didn't notice the red light. After the police report is written, you try to continue but don't get far because your tire is flat because you never checked the pressure. After AAA fixes you up, you drive the rest of the way to the store only to discover it's closed. It's Sunday, but you didn't look at the calendar. Knowledge would have had a positive impact on decision-making in this scenario.
