why do we have many inventors?

They say necessity is the mother of invention.

Adam Smith, one of the founders of the theory of capitalism, said that people invent machines when they're doing a job and realize that there's an easier way to do it. (That is, the people most familiar with the problem are best able to come up with a solution.)

In order to encourage people to innovate and come up with new inventions, the United States offers copyright and patent protection for people's inventions. The owner of a copyright or patent essentially has a monopoly over his (or her) invention, which insures that he can get money from anyone who wants to use the invention (either by buying directly from him or paying licensing fees to make it himself). If there wasn't legal protection, then people wouldn't have an incentive to invent because they would have to do all the work and other people could just come afterwards and steal the idea.

another reason is that a patented product can bring in royalties if companies decide to use ur idea. So inventing and patenting products can make u rich.
