I love RENT.It's one of my favorites.I like the movie, but the Broadway tour was really really good.I wish they'd put the christmas bells song in the movie, and that they hadn't deleted Goodbye Love and Halloween.I don't see why anyone wouldn't like it, but everyone has an opinion I guess.

Love, love, love the musical. I've seen Rent so many times on Broadway since it opened in 1996 and everytime I watch it's different, mainly because of the lead stars. I love that most of the original Broadway cast is in the movie although by the time the movie was filmed they were on their mid-thirties. Freddie Walker and Daphne Rubin-Vega wasn't in the movie, it wasn't such a loss anyway. Tracie Thoms did a good job on the movie. Rosario Dawson's okay. I like Sharon Leal better. And Sarah Silverman! I hope she had a singing part though. She's so funny, I saw one of er shows. The musical is a little long. The movie though wouldn't bore anyone who isn't such a big fan of Broadway musicals, I saw the movie with my friends in the Philippines who haven't seen the Broadway musical and they love it. I know it's missing some songs (Halloween, Goodbye Love, Contact, We're Okay, etc.) but you'll see the deleted scenes including Halloween and Goodbye Love on the DVD so the important songs are there.
You gotta have the movie especially if you are a RENThead. (Like me) Original cast, better vocals, and you can watch it over and over again.

I really enjoyed the movie. I thought that they did a good job a capturing the essence of the musical and bringing it to the screen. I loved Ithat they used so much of the original cast.

i absolutely adore the live musical! it was one of the best i have ever seen, and actually made me cry at the end because the actors made the story so believable. although the movie stuck pretty closely to the musical's storyline, i didn't like it as well....it just wasn't the same.

I saw the movie, and I really didn't like it. The songs were horrible, in my opinion. I thought they sounded so fake, so unengaging. But for some reason a lot of people like it, even love it. So I don't think you have much to lose if you do see it.

Netflix has a handful of them, i are starting to be Into the Woods, enterprise, Sweeney Todd, and a few others from them. attempt the PBS internet site, i understand they have some. in case you prefer to purchase some, amazon is your superb guess, they have a rather solid decision.
