I can identify with you. I was also in an accident and due to the accident I am unable to work. We were insured, but the insurance company paid the Dr. 450,000.00 to say I was fine. I almost died this summer due to complications of the accident and we did not receive any settlement. If I were you I would go to the food shelf, and also ask the pastor of your church to explain your situation to the people, and ask for prayer, if people in the church know that you are hurting many of them will give you money. My girlfriend and her husband did this and they received more money from people wanting to help than if they would have both been working. If you belong to a truly Christian Church the people will run to offer help to you. I know this from experience. But you must make your needs known. Also there is a benefit option through Thrivent Lutheran Service. If you have a fund raiser they will match the amount that you make at the fund raiser. So often people will have a spaghetti dinner that people can come to an donate money for the person or persons that are struggling with health issues or financial issues and then they will match it. It sounds like you just need to let the people in your church know you need help.

Apply for S.S. Disability and ask your Church to help you guys and if they don't change Church's. That what it is suppose to be all about give and you shall receive , but a lot of people are greedy and do not care about other. Take from some who lost everything and I struggle every day. I'm learning to morn my losses. I have seen the cold world for as it can be. But I still believe in God he carries me when I gave up and that has been many times. I'm sorry for your pain and hope things get better. There are Church's that give you food and as far as our government Good luck. You may have to hire a Lawyer and file for your benefits from SS they usually get you what you deserve and they take a small piece ask a lot of questions on his percentage and fees. God Bless You two and good luck life well get better. Pray and keep your faith sometime hardships are there for a reason. It makes us stronger and we walk a little closer to God in a good Church.

First of all, let me just say sorry.
That's a bad place to be in.
Second, isn't a good church supposed to help out people in need?
That just demonstrates how greedy some churches can be.
I think you've waay overdone your share for that church and the least they can do is help.
My advice:
Either talk to the head of the church and explain your side, and if they still deny it, then switch to another church more willing to help you and your wife.
