I'm assuming you mean run faster for football? That would definitely be 40 yard wind sprints or the 40 yard dash in repetition unless you break a play most running backs receivers and defensive backs don't even run 40 yards on a play so this is a good distance to train at.And it will take as long as it takes for the acid to build up in your legs to the point that you cant run any more that is how far you should push it everyday if you are serious about gaining football speed allways give 60-120 seconds rest in between sprints.

Squats 3/4 sets of 8-12 reps
Lunges 3 sets of 8-12 reps
Squat Jumps 3 sets of 4-6 reps
Deadlift 3 sets of 6-10 reps
To run faster you have to sprint short distances like 4 40 yard dashes, 3 50 yard dashes, 6 20 yard dashes. All of these will help you become more explosive and fast.
Also you should learn about PLYOMETRICS these will help you increase speed the best.

I think that running would be the best exercise because you can learn to keep your pace when running. This way you'll know how fast to run without getting tired too quickly. Plus, practice makes perfect. However, I don't know how long you should do it for. Maybe you should try half an hour every other day.

Hmm i agree to wad Pimpjuice said it depends on which events u are taking but for me is the other way round for me i usually go for events tat i'm comfortable in .... For example if ur a sprinter u should just go for sprinting and also dun forget to time urself it really helps u to improve ur running!!
And Also Most Of all U should drink alot of water after u run at least 8 glasses and dun drink too much of water when ur going to run and most of all cutt on drinks like Coke and other acidic drinks..

Sprints will make you faster and more explosive. Start out with 10 30 yrs sprints, then cut them down to 10 20 yrd sprints, and then 10 10 yrd sprints, all in one workout. Give it a couple of weeks and it will increase then you increase your workout.

Workout routine everyday for sprints
1st. warm up- run 1/2 a mile at above jogging pace.
2nd. run sprints-run 200meters 3 times with 1-2min. breaks. Then, run 100meters 3 times with 1-2min. breaks. Then, run40yds 3 times with 1-2min. breaks.
3rd. cool down- jog an easy 1/4 mile.
You will improve your speed in 1-3weeks. (depends how you grow).
Good luck man
