You are only looking at batting stats but he not a great fielder. He kinda sucks out there (now at least.)
I personally dont think he's on or ever took steroids. even if he did take them it would be in the 90's making it LEGAL.
Perjury charges will be the only thing to keep bonds off the homerun record, but an injury will also do it.

The Giants are NOT a possibility. You're on drugs if you think that will happen again. Bonds can't run anymore... period. There is a youth movement in a lot of baseball, because the younger players are less as expensive. The Yankess, or Boston are the only teams I see signing Bonds. Maybe another AL team will think about it, but only towards the end of the season, or if they get an injury to an important player... like if Big Papi went down for the year, then I can see Boston at least looking at Bonds. It would be a 1 year, performance based contract. The only other way Bonds will play again, is out front on his GIGANTIC yard, with his family.

It never ceases to amaze me that there are people like you who for whatever reason either fail to see or do not wish to see the truth of the matter. Barry Bonds is a cheater and a liar. He is not a very nice person. He is less than kind to the fans and the media and has absolutely no problem is letting Greg Anderson do his jail time for him. Bud Selig, the baseball owners puppet, turned his back on this issue years ago and has let the situation develop to the point of no return.
Bonds in NOT the greatest player ever. He's far from it. I could name 50 players that were twice the player Bonds is. Without his chemically enhanced body he would be no where near Henry Aaron's numbers. As far as any records are concerned, no matter how many home runs this criminal hits, it will still always add up to "Zero". It will be a sad and very dark day if he eclipses Aaron's 755 HR's. There is an integrity issue here and I'm so very disappointed that people like you don't see it. Bonds numbers don't mean anything. His entire career is bogus.
Baseball has really dropped the ball in this matter and Bud Selig should be fired. Worse commissioner in the history of baseball.

I can think of 10 guys off the top of my head who are better than Bonds but since you said the best ever there is only one name that should ever be mentioned; George Herman Ruth Aka "The Babe"
You want numbers , you can't handle numbers
Bonds
seasons 21
G 2860
AB 9507
R 2152
H 2841
2B 587
3B 77
HR 734
RBI 1930
SB 509
CS 141
BB 2426
SO 1485
BA.299
OBP .443
SLG. 608
Pitching Stats: none
World Series Stats : None
The Babe
Seasons :22
G 2503
AB 8318
R 2174
H 2873
2B 587
3B 136 !!!
HR 714
SB 123
CS 117
BB 2062
SO 1330
BA .342 !!!
OBP .474
SLG. 690 !!
WS
41 games..326 BA, 15 HR 33 RBI .744 SLG
Pitching
94-46 ERA .2.28
WS 2-0 ERA .87
A couple of things really stand out in all those numbers . The first being the Babes career BA .
most guys will never hit .342 for a season and for a slugger to do it for a career is almost impossible. The second being the Babe's 136 triples. That should really put the myth of the Babe being this huge obese slow guy to rest.Big fat slow guys don't get triples, they run out of breath pulling into second. The 15 year old kid that used to live next door to me offered another explanation ; That most of those triples were inside-the park home runs that Ruth ran out of breath on and stopped at third on. Typical teenage mind.
But what seperates Ruth from the pack is that the man could really pitch well and until another six or seven tool player comes along all questions should begin with " Who do you think was the second greatest player ever ?

I think Bonds is one of the best hitters. But there is more to being a player and he is not the best player. Someone before mentioned Pete Rose, he was probably the best player, 5-1 odds.
As far as cheating, Bonds did what everyone else did. He is being targeted. If you don't think that some of the pitchers he faced or other hitters were doing the same thing then stick your head back in the sand and pretend it never happened.
This was going on in the NFL way before this and the NFL caught it in the late 70's and did something about it. Baseball could have learned from the NFL but chose to do nothing about it. Now because some politician wanted a feather in his cap to help his own personal political agenda and justify his job, the tax payers have spent millions and millions of dollars trying to get 1 player, Barry Bonds, to say he took performance enhancing drugs. So I'll say it, HE TOOK THE 'ROIDS. Can I have the million dollars back now? Can we fricken move on... as for the record, this will go down in history like the Chicago black sox scandel and 60 years from now Kevin Costner's great, great grandson will star in a movie where he hears a voice that says "if you build it, he will come" - but this time when it's done, the voice will also say "build it bigger, he's still juicin.."

Bonds had a weak arm , is a lousy teammate an never played on a winner. The best player of all time has to be a 5 tool player. Bonds was and is not . Late in his career you can not even say he is a good leftfeilder. He has a bat .So that being said take your pick Mantle , Mays, Brett,Banks, Henderson or the up and coming Carl Crawford

its like this...no one, and I mean no one cares about Barry Bonds except bay area fans...he cheated, and everyone knows it, he never treated his teammates or fans with proper accord...why do you think the commish says he will not be there when Bonds goes by Aaron. That said, his numbers will be huge when he finally hangs em up, a half dozen MVPs and the most coveted record in all of sports...I watched his father and godfather play for years in that old cold cave Candlestick, his dad was a couple of dingers short of being the first 40-40 guy ever one season in the early 70s...kind of wild though...if he had never got caught he would be baseballs all time hero...as it is now, he will be baseballs all time record holding villian...kinda like Pete Rose, people forget that he played for a long time, has the all time hits record, and was one of the toughest players that ever lived...but getting caught for that gambling thing...ouch...
