Yes, I have become acquainted with a Muslim woman. In fact, we became acquainted here - Yahoo Answers! So I have had the chance to chat with her now several times, and what stands out is still is the lack of choice. She has less freedom to choose. For example, she said Valentine's Day (as a celebration) was okay, since it did not challenge her beliefs. I felt sad for someone like her (she is highly-educated) who first had to screen how to accept a celebration of Love against her religious beliefs first. Later, I asked her about the Islamic police (I am not making this up - it was reported in the news) that would police they state they are in for any lovers "displaying public affection." She confirmed this as a lawyer would confirm "indecent exposure" in our society.

I have. I don't really care either way. They are just regular people but a bit more "strict" about things. If that's the right word to use.
but I still think they should not wear veils in school/work/bank/airports etc.
