Politics is the name of wining seats only for a pol.party name, gone the days when politicians were indulged in politics for lok kalyan. From the time being i had started observing indian politics ,i got that all this is a crap, they talk about equality, judgement & all round progress for all,but they are the only one who progress both by power & money paid ny us.They r promoting extra seats for minority without thinking about it's effect.
it's the time for all of us to come forward & determine it carefully that wat kind of people we want to be the captain of our ship?

There is no extra seats for minorities, there is reservation only for lower castes.

Statistics compiled by India's National Crime Records Bureau indicate that in the year 2000, the last year for which figures are available, 25,455 crimes were committed against Dalits. Every hour two Dalits are assaulted; every day three Dalit women are raped, two Dalits are murdered, and two Dalit homes are torched.

A report released by Amnesty International in 2001 found an "extremely high" number of sexual assaults on Dalit women, frequently perpetrated by landlords, upper-caste villagers, and police officers. The study estimates that only about 5 percent of attacks are registered, and that police officers dismissed at least 30 percent of rape complaints as false.

Thousands of pre-teen Dalit girls are forced into prostitution under cover of a religious practice known as devadasis, which means "female servant of god." The girls are dedicated or "married" to a deity or a temple. Once dedicated, they are unable to marry, forced to have sex with upper-caste community members, and eventually sold to an urban brothel.

According to a survey conducted by the National Sample Survey in 2000, 40% of Scheduled Castes in India fall below the poverty line, compared to 15% in other communities. Furthermore, 70% of Dalits live in rural areas and here too, two-thirds of Dalit households are landless, compared with one-third among 'other households'.

Dalits have historically been allocated occupations that are considered demeaning or polluting by others - an estimated one million Dalits are manual scavengers who clean public latrines and dispose of dead animals and 60% of Dalits are dependent on casual labor. Literacy rates too present a bleak picture with only 37% of literate Dalits.

You people are not looking at the genetic and social problems of the daliths

Bad people whether thy become politicians or priests , they will do bad things only. Where are the good people, what are they doing (of-course other than complaining) ?. If the young generation wants to do something good for themselves ( atleast,) they should get involved.
