It would be a good dessert option instead of pie or cake all the time.

Nice way to end a meal, a big bowl of cotton candy...not! That's just pure sugar so even for the kids I don't parents would be too interested in letting them have it. Once a year at the County Fair is a treat but more than that I don't think you would have many takers.

Cotton candy isn't actually something most people will sit at a table and eat. It's more of a spectator food. Something you eat while distracted by something else. You wouldn't sit at the kitchen table and eat a large buttered popcorn, would you?
Tables are for savoring and enjoying food. Not just sticking in your mouth and melting.
Besides, most grown ups lose their preference for cotton candy at a certain age anyway.

Because people that eat cotton candy for dinner are probably too fat to get out of bed to even go to a restaurant

They don't serve cotton candy coz it's a restaurant..
not a candy store nor a park nor a fare..
Not to mention restaurants don't have the thing that makes cotton candy in their kitchen..

Haha--

"Why don't they have cotton candy on restaraunt menus?"

Couldn't you ask that about... well... anything?

Anyway, there are millions of possibilities with cake, chocolate, and pie. Cotton candy is just sugar. Can't do much with plain-ol'-sugar.

Cotton candy is not considered a food, It is pure sugar & parents would flip if it was on the menu because kids would want it.

cotton candy or candy floss as we call it is something kids buy at a fairground it is just pure sugar that is spun into a fibre and wrapped into a ball.. In itself not very imaginative, I dont think diners would be too impressed with that desert option.

Because after the first visit there and the parents bought their kids some " Rocket Fuel" ( All parents have been there) .. the parents would never ever go back and the restaurant would lose business.

I like it, too, but it doesn't sound like the kind of thing many people would order in a restaurant, and the machine would take up a lot of room in the kitchen. You can buy it in bags at Wal*mart, though.
