Radar detectors are legal in all states except for Virginia. however, jammers are illegal in most states. Radar detectors are very useful because the instant on requires the police officer to be actively trying to catch speeders, which they are most likely not doing. There are many websites that rate the detgectors on the market and give you the best for the value. I got a Beltronics Vector 965 and it works great. It has saved me numerous times in only 3 months.

Yes in most states they are legal be sure to check your state... radar jammers however are illegal everywhere because they infringe on evidence... I've heard Valentine 1's new v1.8 is good because not only does it tell you how many radars are in the area it also says the direction and has detectors in the front and back!

There are a few communist states such as Virginia that consider themselves above Federal law and say that detectors are illegal. Most officers today use "Instant On" radar which makes just a plain detector futile. I would suggest a combination radar detector/jammer.

Legal in some areas, not in others, they only have one use, and that is to help someone break the law. They should be illegal everywhere. I find the best radar detector is the human eye. I see radar, I don't get tickets, but then I drive like a sensible human being.

Yes they are legal in most states but if you get pulled over by a cop and they see it, it is all most an automatic ticket. Escort is the best but spendy. Then cobra - they are cheaper in price and still good.

In Minnesota it is illegal to use them. But not illegal to buy them. Just don't get caught using them.
