Don Shula. Only undefeated season in NFL history and back to back championships.

Shula set numerous records in his 33 seasons as a head coach. He holds NFL records for regular season wins (328), total victories (347), single season win percentage (1.000 in 1972), most games coached (526), most consecutive seasons coached (33), Super Bowl appearances (6) and Super Bowl losses (4) (tied with Bud Grant, Dan Reeves and Marv Levy). His teams' won 7 NFL conference titles: 1964, 1968, 1971-73, 1982 and 1984.

*Edit*- The Superbowl Trophy is named after Lombardi because he won the first 2 Superbowls. You dont just change the name because someone better came along.

Paul Brown
Brown gained a reputation as an innovator during his time in Cleveland. He was the first to use intelligence tests to judge players, establish a film library, and install face masks on helmets. Another innovation was the use of "messenger guards" to relay plays from the sidelines, and he even experimented with helmet radios, decades before they became part of the game. The offense directed by Graham was the predecessor of the offense made famous by Bill Walsh, a protege of Brown.

He was also a person known for his stubborn approach to criticism. After the Browns had soundly defeated the Philadelphia Eagles in the opening game of the 1950 NFL season, Eagles head coach Greasy Neale dismissed the Browns by saying, "All they do is pass the ball." In the team's subsequent meeting a few months later, the Browns set an NFL record that still stands by attempting no passes in their win over the Eagles.

If you were to look in the win column you would have to say Don Shula without a doubt. And if ya throw in the only coach to go all the way through a season without losing any games, then Dons a "shoe in" for the best coach of alltime.

im biased i would have to say landry because i am a cowboys fan. he took the cowboys to 5 superbowls. the other 6 coaches combined only managed 3. you look at his super bowl losses, twice to knoll and once to shula even those were good losses if there is a such thing. look at the number of former players he coached that are in the hall of fame, most recently troy aikman and micheal irvin. its not all about x's and o's but the legacy you leave on the game.
