Audi, once known as Horch. The circles represented the companies that merged to make up the Auto-Union in the 1930s. Auto Union was a major rival of Daimler-Benz on the Grand Prix circuits in those years.

The modern brand is Audi; in the 1930's and early 40's it was known as AutoUnion. They are German manufactured vehicles and the Audi is basically an AutoUnion for modern times.

Audi. It's four overlapping circles.
"Audi’s history is one of the most many-faceted stories ever told in the history of the automobile in general. The Audi emblem with its four rings identifies one of Germany’s oldest-established automobile manufacturers. It symbolises the amalgamation in 1932 of four previously independent motor-vehicle manufacturers: Audi, DKW, Horch and Wanderer. These companies form the roots of what is today AUDI AG."
