Ok, I'm having some trouble here because I'm creating a weekly time sheet and I don't know how to figure out what 5 min, 10 min, 20 min etc. is..
I know this: which is broken down in quarters of an hour
1hr=1.0
45min=.75
30min= .50
15min=.25

I can't seem to find the number in between the quarters. I figure the next breakdown would be 1/8 and in decimals is equal to .125.
Hopefully someone understands my question lol. Or some type of online calculator would help. Many thanks

It seems like you just want the eighths? 1/8ths, 3/8ths, 5/8ths, 7/8ths?

.125; 7 minutes, 30 seconds,
.375; 22 minutes, 30 seconds,
.625; 37 minutes, 30 seconds,
.875; 52 minutes, 30 seconds.

Is that what you wanted?

Edit: 5 minutes, 10 minutes?

5 minutes is one-twelfth of an hour, or .0833 hours.
10 minutes is one sixth, or .1667
... and so on.

You just need to get yourself in the right frame of mind. Forget that minutes and hours are the units you're considering altogether for a moment and then just deal with the numbers, same if you were apportioning M&Ms or giving change for a dollar or two. You should quickly see it's fairly simple stuff.

The following may be of use:-
5min------5/60 ------------1/12
10min---10/60----1/6----2/12
15min---15/60----1/4----3/12
20min---20/60----1/3----4/12
25min---25/60 ------------5/12
30 min--30/60----1/2-----6/12
35min---35/60 ------------7/12
40min---40/60----2/3----8/12
45min---45/60----3/4----9/12
50min---50/60----5/6---10/12
55min---55/60------------11/12

However if a decimal is suitable as an answer, divide top line by 60 using a calculator:-
e.g. 45/60 = 0.75
50/60 = 0.833 etc

If ur using microsoft, go to start, programs, accessories, and there's a calculator program. If you want a decimal for something like a minute, put (# minutes) divided by (60). That's your fraction of an hour. It'll calculate the decimal value of that many minutes in relation to an hour.

Here we go.

1hr = 60min
60min = 60min

45min=.75
30min= .50
15min=.25

Just divide the minutes required by 60 and the result will be the decimal value.

simple arithmetic will do.
