I wouldn't douche if trying to conceive. When you ovulate, your vagina produces a special discharge to help in conception. If you wash it out, you may lower your chances.

Don't douche unless instructed by a doctor or health care provider. Besides increasing your risk of infections like bacterial vaginosis, (bv often causes a fishy smell, and greyish watery discharge, but can also be linked to pre-term labor, and premature birth) douching can wash away the fertile cervical mucous which you need to get pregnant. The egg white cervical mucous helps lower the acidity of the vagina making it more friendly to sperm and make the vagina more slippery and therefore, making it easier for sperm to swim up to the uterus, and into the fallopian tubes so that an egg could be fertilized and pregnancy occur.

Douching is almost always a bad idea.

Douching is never recommended for any purpose, least of all for when you're trying to conceive. It disrupts your body's natural PH balance and can cause serious problems. The things that will help trying to conceive is monitoring your basal temps, ovulation monitors, and fertility doctors.
mayoclinic says "Repetitive douching disrupts the normal organisms that live in the vagina and can actually increase the risk of vaginal infection." and "Never douche during pregnancy"

well, i guess the rationale could be that douching will clear away some superficial mucus from the cervix and make it easier for semen to travel up into the uturus... but... sperm use mucus as a sort of ladder to get into to uturus.

I don't think it makes a difference either way. Women in America don't douche at all and we have babies just fine. The best thing you can do is stop eating baked foods, take vitamins with 1200mc folic acid, no alcohol, no smoking and do some relaxing exercise like yoga or pilates.

keep trying though, its fun to try!

Douching can even encourage certain infections of the vagina. For most women, douching is unnecessary because the vagina is a self-cleaning organ with its own secretions.

Don't douche, my understanding is that it really is not all that good for you, trying to conceive or not.

I don't recommend douching, the reproductive organs "clean themselves" so to speak, the natural way is always the best.
