I've never done it in front of the mirror, but sometimes I try and cancel out the voice that tries to sabotage me by putting me down, with positive things---in other words, rationalizing with that intruding voice. I have talked to myself in the mirror once or twice, to try and clear my mind when I was down---I didn't tell myself all the things I'm good at tho. I don't know anyone who does this, but it's not a bad idea! If you think it might work, try it out....what you tell yourself is really important, and positive words are always a good way to try and turn the negative voice around.

My mirror is my friends, they tell me when I am wrong and right they are my measurement of me, but when they are not then I am that, to know the good you must know the bad so that you can then do the good. Stop going to your therapist that's what they are there for to keep you feeling badder and badder, sadder and sadder, you can't give them any more money if you are not so called "sick" enough to come back to them, LOL Find good and true and real friends and when you do they will stick with you through thick and thin and they will be your guides and support.

I don't know. When I'm down I try to find something to do to work through it. Don't like to dwell on it and it usually works. Either something that's physical or takes a lot of concentration or brain power. Try to get away from whatever it is making you feel down. Getting out around other people helps too.

Yes. You think about the things that you are good at, the things that you have to be thankful for, how many people are so much worse off than you are, etc.

If everything collapses in your world, but you have your health, you have to appreciate the value of that. If you lose all of your money, but you still have people who love you, you have to be grateful for that.

No, if I am down I look in the mirror and tell myself how messed up I am.

Nope, i just get caught in this vicious circle of badder and badder attributes and worse feelings...What my therapist suggested was that i use a rubber band on my wrist and flick it every time i have a negative thought. That gives you great insight into how much negative thinking you do and how much it affects your daily life.

I don't need a mirror, I just use my mind to remind myself.

That sounds healthy to me. Something a well adjusted person would do.
