I have to admit that is news to me. Personally I think the term has had enough usage by people who know better to be free of that connotation. There is alot of our language or terminology that might have had different consequences, implications or meanings in the past, but we're in the 21st century now!

The medical terminology has nothing at all to do with any treatment. Homo means same... I'm sure you got it from there. It is simply refering to the individuals preference in the same (homo) sex.

You have to read Homo sexual as two separate words.
Homo- Short form of Homogenous
Sexual - U know this
they are 2 separate words. When they are together they give a different meaning. :)

I've never liked the term homosexual and have never used it. I usually use gay and queer but never homosexual.
