Buddhism is not a religion. but a teaching.
most of the religions such as Christianity and catholic..etc...
has specific things you must do
traditions
they have books (bible and such) that tells you what you can and cannot do
but Buddhism teaches you how to tell the good decisions from the bad
it gives you the freedom to do what is right
and to be good, loving and honest

some people say that if your a Buddhist you must be a vegetarian and such.
those rumors aren't true.
most Buddhists after they "learn" the teaching realize that its wrong to eat other living creatures.
and that's why they are vegetarians
its not because the monks..etc...told you to do it

like i said before, it gives you the freedom to choose
but soon you will realize what is the good/honest choice

so its basically teaching you to be a better person

you mean Buddhism?
if so it is a religion started by Siddhartha Gautama who was a rich Indian who ran away from his royal family to join poor fellows and attempt to reach enlightenment. Siddhartha is known as Buddha because he is supposedly the only human to reach enlightenment in one lifetime(if you don't reach enlightenment you reincarnate until you do).

Boodism is a state of being where you are always scared. Probably because people are always saying "boo" to you.
