My last period was on Feb 12 and now today Feb 23rd I am having some light cramping. Does this mean I will ovulate in the next few days? And when the "egg like" mucus comes does that mean I am ovulating?

How long is your normal cycle? If you have a 28 days cycle you should ovulate in the next 48 hours or so, yes now would be a good time to have sex to conceive. If you cycle is under 31 days, you could still ovulate soon. Good Luck!

It's likely. Even though my cycle was 28-30+ days, I tended to ovulate on the 9th, don't know why, but both my kids were conceived on day 9 of my cycle. It is not an exact science. If you are trying to conceive, from what I understand it is best to have sex regularly (like every other day, not more often, to preserve your partner's sperm count... also get him into boxers!) beginning around day 7 and continuing through day 20. What happens is the sperm live a lot longer than the egg, they wait around for the egg to enter the tube, and some of that waiting is necessary http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/nova/miracle/program.html

If you're trying to avoid conception, use birth control unless a miscalculation wouldn't be unwelcome.

butterflyangel had the best answer all you can do is keep trying to track... ovulation is such a tough one. You can also try those indicator sticks like the pregnancy tests but for ovulation - I used those but I have to tell you I don't think I ever got it right with all the calculating my son was concieved when I least expected I was actually ovulating. Just go at it like bunnies!

Go to http://www.mymonthlycycles.com and put in your period info and it will calculate when you will be fertile and ovulating plus it keeps tracks of your periods. It will even email you ahead of time to alert you of your upcoming fertile/ovulation and period dates. It is a free and very helpful website.

mucas can mean it and the date can mean it and cramping can mean it.

There are ovulation kits that are like pregnancy test kits. However you are not suppose to use them to prevent pregnancy. Just to get pregnant. There at all the drug stores.
