As a married man I do try to look good for my wife. But I admit there are days I let myself go. I think we just get comfortable as time goes on and looks start to fade. It happens to women too. My wife somehow manages to always be beautiful though and I have no idea how she does it I just appreciate it.

You mean physical fitness, or clothing & grooming?
I've been married 20 years and I do care. I make a point of exercising regularly, eating well, and getting enough sleep in order to stay fit.
Lately my wife has been sick and without an income so we've gone deeply into debt (my full time job does not pay enough to support a family), so I haven't been able to afford frequent haircuts or new clothes, but I still do care about those things too, if only out of personal pride.
I wonder how many married guys lose that sense of pride, and why?

Big bellies, bad hairstyles and skin blemishes are very popular, as you may have noticed. Once these appliances are removed, these men are the "dreamboats" their wives just adore. Certain people are never admitted.

As far as physical fitness is concerned, men and women become out of shape if they don't keep fit. For clothing, depends on the occupation. Obviously, men don't stand in front of mirror for 30 minutes every morning trying to decide what clothes and shoes to wear. And for that matter, women go to the stores and buy more than enough clothes knowing very well that they'll return them just for the heck of it.

I think that some men after being married for a while feel like they don't have to keep impressing their spouse as they did when they were dating. I think guys now a days are a bit more into their looks as more and more grooming products are geared toward them. Keeping healthy and fit also makes you more attractive and sext.

When they are single, they like to look nice and hot to attract women....When they are married, they dont' need to attract women because they already have a woman, and women usually don't leave men they are married to just because they dont' care about their looks. Now if women did......then men would keep up their looks all the time probably...

that is typically because they don't have to look nice for someone they love or want to impress somone.but I still know some married men that are still looking SEXY!!!

Thats a self-esteem thing I think. I think that there are plenty of married men that are very concerned with their looks.
