Ok I'ts about my PSP.I am ready to smash it and feed it to my dog..

I tried connecting it,but it won't work!

First,I go to "NetWork Settings"

I click on it, And i select "Infracture Mode"

Then I select "New Connection"

I name my connecntion

Then I Scan for my network

My PSP finds network

Since my router has securtity on it,i insert my WEP key.

Then for adress settings,i select easy.

Then I save it and when i try to connect to my wirless network,it says

"Connecting to the access point....." Obtaining IP adress...."

"Conncection to the server failed. A DNS error has occured. (8041040D)

I did turn on my switch at the side of the PSP on.

I even sometimes go very close to the router.

But it will NOT work.

If noone helps me i will feed it to my dog..

Thanks!

Here are a couple things to try. It might be very simple. I setup my sons PSP and once I found my problem I could have kicked myself.

You are obviously using a wireless router/switch. Have you setup restrictions as in only certain MAC addresses can access your wireless network? If so, then add the PSP MAC address int your router. The n try it again.

The next step is to remove any security you have set for your wireless router/switch. Then attempt to connect. You should be success full is you are using DHCP which auto assigns an IP address to the PSP. Once connected, turn o the WEP or what ever security / encryption you are using and then edit the PSP connection and add your WEP key.

Just reading other peoples comments and what ever you do don't take the wep code off. Hackers are to good. You need to type in your routers ip address into the computers and look at the settings about how you allow new devices to connect. I can give a more in depth detail if you need it.

Hope this helps

The only suggestion I can offer is to make your wireless connection unsecure. Then see if it works. If it works, you know it is a configuration conflict between your wireless and your PSP.. I do not own a PSP so I am just giving you my basic network troubleshooting skill set.
