Dreams are interesting things but i wouldn't trust them to tell you what you should do with your life. Your dream may have been triggered by you remembering this person some time in the recent past. However, i wouldn't take an intense dream about you getting back together with someone as a sign.
When you are dreaming, the part of your brain which processes logic and reasoning is more or less shut down. Any feelings or thoughts that you have in a dream is most likely irrational and have no meaning in your real life. When you date someone and especially if you have a sexual relationship, you will dream about that person for a long time. Lord knows that i dream about girls i have been with and that i have no feelings for, all the time.
Don't use dreams as a guide and don't read too much into them, they are mostly meaningless .

The nature of dreams is very puzzling and mysterious. From time to time, I have dreams of things that make no sense to me. It seems possible that through sleep, our souls can connect with other people and things. It is quite rare to experience this kind of dream.
I do not know what exactly I can say about the dream you and your ex-girlfriend experienced together. I guess what I can tell you is that you could treat this as a sign for something special such a premonition of new relationships or maybe just a brief supernatural event. Whatever the case, remember this as something special/mystical that you could tell your family and kids about.

I think it's pretty cool how strong our minds are. We only use 10 percent of our brains, so who know?! We could be telepathic with the ones we are/were really close to.
I had a dream once that I was having a conversation with my best friend on a ferris wheel at an amusement park. I was best friends with her my whole childhood. I called her the next day and she told me she had the very exact same dream. How creepy is that?!
Maybe you should try to keep a relationship with this girl. Friend or girlfriend, just be in her life.

Probably nothing. Even Freud said sometimes a cigar is just a cigar. Dreams are just sort of what happens when the filter of our ego is let down for a little while; all the junk that's floating around intermingles. I don't think they have any "meaning" in that they can't predict the future or tell us things beyond our normal grasp.
Also, we use ALL of our brain, not just 10%. See the Time Magazine brain special (not sure which issue, but its farily current, from January or February)

When we dream, thoughts and images that are normally hidden within our sub-conscious, will often leak into our conscious. The fact that both you and your ex experienced similar dreams, could mean that within each of your sub-conscience, you might possibly have the desire to resolve issues that were previously left unresolved when you ended your relationship. Try talking openly with her. Ask her how she felt about the past relationship. What caused it to end? Could it have been something not so obvious at the time, that became apparent after the fact? These kinds of things might have sparked arguments and been difficult to discuss directly after the break-up, but now that you have been apart for 10 years, both of you might find past issues easier to discuss.

Sound like you two have a very strong connection that you don't realizes you have. I don't know if that good or bad since she an ex-girlfriend. But I feel you should find out what the purpose of this connection. You should seek answer by praying for answer. Ask God to lead and guide you and he will. Sound like God is dealing with you from this dream, I don't know if you an religious person or not but God is real and it sound like it worth finding out what he trying to show you.

Sorry. in the previous I created Jesus, i attempted to create an incubus to flow down and impregnate Mary, besides the incontrovertible fact that it became out to be gay and not involved. this is as quickly as I invented the Holy Spirit. besides, this incubus seems a lot like Jesus, so as that's probably who you observed, no longer the actual Jesus.

Its possible that she did dream about you too......she could of been thinking/talking about you and you picked it up and had that dream about her. Talk with her and if she seems to be interested in you then proceed from there.

She is your soul mate and your minds are calling each other. I can feel when my boyfriend is coming around a corner before I actually see him. Its called evolution where you and her are bound through the mind, body and soul.
