Okay, my cousin is having a baby, would that make her my second cousin, or what?

Your cousin is your cousin. The baby would be your 1st cousin once removed. That baby and YOUR child would be 2nd cousins.

Your cousin's baby will be your nephew or niece. Second cousin (second generation cousin) is used to denote the relationship between chilren of two cousins.

For example, you have a first cousin in your mother's sister's son. But if that person is the son of a cousin of your mother (not own sister), then you will be second cousins.

It would be your first cousin, once removed. Your child and your cousin's child would be second cousins.

Just to cover all of your bases, I would just say that your cousin's child is your cousin. It's just easier to explain it to people that way.

It would not be your nephew or niece. A nephew or niece would be your sibling's child (or the sibling of your spouse). You'd become a great-aunt or great-uncle when your sibling becomes a grandparent.

I'm not sure what she would be to you, maybe second cousin once removed. I think if you had a kid they would be second cousins.
