I think if you are looking for some external affirmation to take an action you believe or feel you need to take, you will find a sign to confirm it.

And sometimes our rational mind is not in-synch or even aware of things our emotional conciousness is trying to tell us (and most of us aren't as emotionally developed as we are intellectually).

Our rational minds are always filtering and generalizing things in order to make a very complex environment simpler to negotiate. If our mind didn't do a lot of this at a subconcious level, simple tasks would be impossible because of the sheer volume of factors and apparent chaos involved in doing that one task.

But just like you don't have to tell yourself to breathe, you can still control your breathing somewhat if you choose to focus your concious mind on doing that.

Basically, you pass a gazillion things every day without noticing them as you go about your daily tasks. You tune things out so you can get things done or just because you've fallen into a pattern. But if you refocus or unfocus your awareness, you'll notice all sorts of things--some of them seemingly miraculous--that you would not ordinarily notice.

That's kind of the idea of prayer and meditation: to refocus one's awareness away from the mundane struggle of daily existence. But you can do the same thing in any number of ways, and it always seems magical, and it kind of is when you consider its ability to transform you and your behaviour and your worldview/reality. And sometimes it's our emotional needs that are behind it all, and when our emotional and rational minds rebind into one congnitive whole and we wind up being completely transformed, it sure feels like a miracle.

Call them "signs" if you want. It's less wordy.

Yes I believe that there are certain things that stand out like signposts. The problem lies in the fact we cannot always interpret them right. Women are great at intuition, maybe that is what you are talking about. Men have gut feelings they follow. The only thing that I can say about any of these attributes is to use your mind in each and every situation and make sure you are not misleading yourself.

There are no coincidences . Most of your answers are either inside of you or near enough to see them . Sometimes I need help interpreting the information in front of me . Being completely honest with yourself and another human being is one of the answers .

There are definately both signs and coincidences
the "thing" here is a thing called discernment --- to one with discernment they can "read" a particular incident and derive volumnes from it -- while others without discernment will see nothing more than a peculiar incident !!
