Until recently it was Kongo Gumi, however it appears Kongo Gumi has now gone out of business.

Prior to Kongo Gumi being recognized as the oldest, Faversham Oyster Fishery in England, established 1189, was regarded by the Guiness Book of Records as the world's oldest company, so I suspect it has reclaimed the record.

The oldest company in the world that has been continuously owned by the same family can be found in Japan.

The name is Kongo Gumi. And it is now run by the 40th generation of the same family.

In the western world, its the Hudson's Bay Company, it was founded in 1670 and is still existing.

It is in Japan. I forget the name but one family construction firm has been in the business of building temples since the 12th century.
