how do i get my website recognised by google/yahoo etc.?

I have designed a website, but dont know how to get it recognised in the search engines. even when i type nearly all the words in the site nothing comes up for me?? any advice??

I recommend visiting http://www.addme.com and pay close attention to the ROR files that they tell you to create. There are free programs available for creating these files from http://www.freewarefiles.com and others. Yahoo and Google look for the ROR file to tell them the site's content. Addme also has a free submission tool to help get these sites to index (crawl) your site. Hope this helps
