A jr is named excatly as the dads name . The same name with jr at the end ! You can name your baby whatever you like, no law against it but he really wouldn't be named after you as far as Jr is concerned . So i think why add Jr to his name then? why not just name him the name you like so much instead? He will still be named after you and then your brother too. And thats a good thing right ! I don't think he has to be a Jr if you really love the other name ! All that matters is that you really like the name your giving him and what you think he would think about it later on when he is grown ! Also i always thought it had to be a first born son to name him jr, but now i know some will name a second son jr ! Like dale jr, he wasn't his dads first son?!! so i think thats weird sense he wasn't his first son!! If i;m correct in this?!!

Well in order to officially be a Jr. Everything has to be exactly as your name. First, Middle, and Last unfortunately. Just name your next son after your brother, you'll want another one in a few years. Be Blessed.

Yes it has to be exactly the same that is why they have to put jr. sr. or 1,2,3,4 whatever... BUT my husband is a jr. and he HATES it. eery time we go to pay a bill he has to change his information so that they have HIS social security # instead of his dads.. he is divorced and it accidently affected (temporarily) his dad's credit scoe until they had it fixed. and there mail always comes in the wrong names and addresses!! it get confusing so we have chse not to name our soon to be son after daddy this time. My dad's side always skiped generations with henry and charles so that there was no jr or sr. confusion

Just name your kid how you want, do you think some kind of name police are going to take the Jr. away from you?

To be a jr the names have to be the same.

But heres an idea, why don't you give the kid his own name? Can't you think of something original, or do you just think so much of yourself that you think anyone would be glad to have your name?

The name has to be exactly the same for it to represent the suffix, "Jr."

Yes, the name has to be exactly the same.
Most Jrs. hate it. It is too confusing.

I don't think it makes a difference. It's mostly the first name.
